Editing a Piece of Literature From Last Year.

Everyone is different. There are blacks, whites, jews, men, women, boys, girls. Some people are happy, others are sad. But, what would our world be like if we were all the same? We know that during 1963, blacks were fighting for equal rights, most blacks would either be a slave or they’d be unfortionitally killed. Same with women, women would most likely be sold as wives for men. This world would mostly be white men all doing the same job except for one man who was the leader of these men. The men worked for this man. I would image this man being very strict and if the littlest thing was different you would probably be killed. If everyone was the same, everyone would have to have their hair the same way and even have their emotions the same. No one could be sad if everyone else was happy. No one could be excited if everyone was sad. Everyone would have to have the same religious beliefs and the same political beliefs. What would happen to women? Like I said earlier, most women would be sold as wives for men. Women would be stuck at home doing house work. Like in 1920 when women were first allowed to vote, that would not have happened. Women would probably be stuck working for their “husband’. The only actual jobs a women would be able to do would probably be a teacher, a cook or a maid. It would be like in “A Wrinkle In Time” when all the little kids were dribbling at the same pace, or when the school bell rings and everyone has to leave their current class. So, that into 1 sentence, our world would be like one strict game of follow the leader.

As you can see there are improvements to be made, so here is the edited version:

Everyone is different; there are people of different skin tone, race, and gender. Not only do our appearances vary but, also our emotions; some are somber, and others are joyous. Except, what would our world be like if we were all the same? We know that during 1963, blacks were fighting for equal rights, most blacks would either be a slave or they’d be unfortunately killed. Same with women, women would most likely be sold as wives for men. So, most likely our world would mostly be one race, one gender and one religion doing the same job except for one man who was the leader of these men. The men worked for this man. This man would be very strict and if you did the slightest things different, you’d probably get three warnings and you’re done. Everyone would have to have the same religious beliefs and the same political beliefs. What would happen to women? Like I said earlier, most women would be sold as wives for men. Women would be stuck at home doing housework. Like in 1920 when women were first allowed to vote, that would not have happened. Women would probably be stuck working for their “husband’. The only actual jobs women would be able to do would probably be a teacher, a cook or a maid. It would be like in “A Wrinkle In Time” when all the little kids were dribbling at the same pace, or when the school bell rings and everyone has to leave their current class. So, to put that into 1 sentence, our world would be like one strict game of follow the leader.
